Romney going to the phones for support.
One truism in business is that you have to spend money to make money. Marketing, often one of the bigger corporate expenses, is no place to skimp.
I often tell my clients, when times are good you need to spend money on marketing to stand out. When times are bad, spend more because your competition is probably doing less marketing. Often, your buck goes a bit further when nobody else is spending because services become cheaper and since less people market themselves, your exposure is greater because people pay attention.
Liked this article on Mitt Romney - below. Using direct mail and telemarketing is perfect for the current climate. Direct mail is sparse - so his will likely stand out - as will his telemarketing campaigns as less companies go "to the phones".

A true businessman, Romney obviously gets it - at least from a marketing perspective. Spend, stand out, and sit back and wait for 2 percent response. I'm fairly certain he's probably seeing an even higher percentage.
